Marijuana votes 2014 today.

Admin; Here is where to watch the action on marijuana votes. With some pretty pictures…

A handful of states and cities will vote to loosen restrictions on the drug, setting the stage for bigger battles in 2016

Residents in Lewiston, Maine may have seen an unusual Halloween decoration this year: a mobile billboard, towed around town on the bed of a truck, featuring a face screaming in horror and, in spooky-squiggly script, the words “Marijuana: Less toxic! Less addictive! Less scary than alcohol!”

The ad is part of the campaign to legalize marijuana in the small New England city, one of a handful of places where measures easing restrictions on the drug are on the Nov. 4 ballot. In Alaska, volunteers are going door to door in below freezing weather. In Oregon, where voting is done by mail, legalization supporters are using a Facebook app to nudge their friends who haven’t put their ballots in the post. Legalization advocates see the mid-term votes as a chance to set the stage ahead of larger fights to legalize marijuana in 2016, where it may be on the ballot in California.

Here’s a rundown of the key votes on marijuana this year, which are all hovering in toss-up territory: Continue reading

Gov. John Hickenlooper: It Was ‘Reckless’ For Colorado To Legalize Marijuana

Admin; Hypocritical because he has made his millions from alcohol and insulting to speak out against the will of the people passing A64 in light of the inaction of the federal government.  Please think more carefully about the words you choose…

Gov. John Hickenlooper: It Was ‘Reckless’ For Colorado To Legalize Marijuana

HICKENLOOPER

Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper (D), a vocal opponent of his state’s legalization of marijuana, said Monday that recreational marijuana laws are “reckless.”

Hickenlooper was asked during a gubernatorial debate about other state governors who may be considering legalizing marijuana.

“I would view it as reckless before we see what the consequences are” in Colorado, Hickenlooper said, International Business Times reported. His Republican challenger, Bob Beauprez, agreed with the “reckless” characterization, according to Politico. Continue reading

Colorado Child Dead after state “confiscates” baby girl to give to state-approved foster care, (for safe keeping?) because parents admit to smoking marijuana.

Admin; This is a heart wrenching story about a Colorado family who loses custody of their little girl, Alex Hill, because father admits to smoking marijuana after she goes to bed. There’s no happy ending here.

Grandpa was wrong….money does grow on trees, Marijuana trees.

Admin; With national debt rising hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt every 30 seconds, I think it would be fair to say that the federal government is trying to keep us in debt, by not legalizing a plant that can cure, create, build, dream, solve problems, and put our country back in credible business…..I think it’s pretty obvious here, that we need to start growing more money trees. Duh!

Marijuana Tax Revenue May Top $3 Billion A Year With Legalization

The Huffington Post  | By Matt Ferner

Money may not grow on trees, but it apparently does grow on marijuana plants. If all 50 states legalized cannabis today, they’d be collectively raking in more than $3 billion a year in taxes.

Feds Denying Marijuana As medicine…I smell Hypocrisy.

Admin; The potential for CBD oil to cure many diseases is very obvious. The federal government seeks to control the way in which this can or will happen, and its all about the Benjamin’s baby.

Here is a short (less than fifteen minute) video on the truth about CBD oil, cannabis, and the governments involvement in media manipulations involving marijuana’s reform and freedom. With profit driven motivations the federal governments control over marijuana should be taken away by the louder voice of the public. In 1999 the federal government filed for two patents; both cannabinoids and cannabis oil as use in medicine. Meanwhile our government pursues arrests and imprisons Americans who continue to use cannabis to aide their conditions . The truth is hard for some, but necessary for the Freedom of marijuana and its reform to continue to grow.

Media and Marijuana

Pharma intends to half-ass cannabis’ natural healing properties.

“Cancer patients should not use cannabis to self-medicate, but I hope that our research will lead to a safe synthetic equivalent being available in the future.”

WHAT!?  Why? Money? Give me a better reason…Safety?

No, I’m not buying it. Not when Pharma is the biggest business in America, and Marijuana has been on prohibition for far too long because of this.

If they do come up with a way to synthetically make cannabis sativa in order to cure cancer, ect.,…… based on Cannabis saliva’s long hard work creating a perfect recipe for ages with mother nature as her guide, and eons of evolution…. I doubt it would even come close to the real thing. its like fake boobs, or spice, or latex condoms; they just don’t make the grade when it comes to the real thing.  And Really, Common there’s no safer way than what mother nature has already produced. Definitely not buying the “we need to make it safe and get the right dose” excuse. The cure is right here in front of our faces, and still they deny its right to be legal, and medicinally used.

Cannabis ‘could cut tumour growth’

AAP

July 14, 2014 8:10PM

NEW research reveals the drug’s main psychoactive ingredient – tetrahydrocannabino (THC) – could be responsible for its success in shrinking tumors.

They then targeted the tumors with doses of the cannabis compound and found that two cell receptors in particular were responsible for the drug’s anti-tumor effects.

So they have done testing (more at link) & yes it does shrink tumors but… we won’t let anyone use it until we can find a synthetic (which can then be patented) & they can then earn lots of Pharma $$$$ from their ‘cure’

“Our research uses an isolated chemical compound and using the correct concentration is vital,” Dr McCormick said.

…Here’s a good concentration for you, pack the bowl, light it up, inhale. And it’s still safer than most pharmaceuticals on the counter.

Iran Cannabis culture

Admin; An informative and in depth look at the cannabis culture changes in Iran, a brief history and its blossom into the light. Marijuana in Iran is more of a “middle class drug”, and used recreationally. Since there are more dangerous drugs for cheap, there tends to be more abuse and addiction issues correlated with these other hard drugs. Marijuana is illegal, yet not as policed, due to the bigger issues revolving around abuse, and spreading of serious illnesses with the types of drug use that is prevalent in Iran.

Seattle policeman writes tickets in 2014 to spite the city attorney and now bulk of those tickets rescinded and reimbursed.

Admin; This is an article that sheds a bad light on policemen when they decide to inject their personal opinion into their job enforcement of laws regarding marijuana being legalized.  Click on the link to see more examples of “Opies” insultive notes on the tickets that he wrote as well as a news vidio.  It is interesting to see that this was allowed to go on for 6 months and that the policeman is only reprimanded and now re instated…

SEATTLE – Seattle’s elected prosecutor says he’s dropping all tickets issued for the public use of marijuana through the first seven months of this year, because most of them were issued by a single police officer who disagrees with the legal pot law.
In a briefing to the City Council on Monday, City Attorney Pete Holmes said he is moving to dismiss approximately 100 tickets issued by the Seattle Police Department between Jan. 1 and July 31. His office also said it would be seeking a refund for those who have already paid their $27 ticket.
Through the first six months of the year, a single officer wrote about 80 percent of the tickets, addressing some of them to “Petey Holmes” or writing that he considered the pot law “silly.”
The officer, Randy Jokela, is now under official investigation by the department’s Office of Professional Accountability.
In one ticket, the officer wrote that he found two people smoking marijuana and made them flip a coin to decide which person would be cited.
“(Suspect) lost the coin flip so he got the ticket while the other person walked. (Suspect) was allowed to keep his pipe,” the ticket reads.
In another ticket, the officer referred to Washington’s voter-enacted changes to marijuana laws as “silly,” according to Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole.
Jokela was temporarily reassigned but is now back on patrol. Meanwhile, the internal department investigation is ongoing.
“Chief O’Toole and (Office of Professional Accountability) Director Pierce Murphy conferred and believed that nothing in the ongoing investigation precluded him from returning to his patrol duties,” said SPD spokesman Drew Fowler.
